YouTube intensifies its fight against ad blockers

YouTube announced today that it is intensifying measures against third-party applications that violate its Terms of Service, particularly ad-blocking applications. Users will encounter an error "This content is not available in this application" or experience buffering issues when trying to view content through alternative clients.

#YouTube emphasizes that its terms do not allow third-party applications to disable ads (#Ad blocking), as this deprives creators of earnings from views, and advertising on YouTube helps support creators and provides access to the service for billions of users worldwide.

YouTube Premium, which reached the milestone of 100 million subscribers in February, is offered as a solution for those who prefer a completely ad-free experience. #Google's video service allows the use of its API by third-party applications only if they comply with the API Terms of Use.

Last year, YouTube took action against the YouTube Vanced application. Going forward, the company will curb the actions of clients that violate these policies: "When we find an application that violates these terms, we will take appropriate measures to protect our platform, creators, and viewers".
