Artificial intelligence in AdOps: assistant, not replacement

  • Artificial intelligence effectively automates routine tasks for AdOps.
  • AI successfully imitates human behavior without raising suspicions among people.
  • Despite the potential of AI, experts are confident that AdOps jobs are not at risk. AI is seen as a tool that simplifies tasks, but strategic decisions and management remain human responsibilities.

Artificial intelligence continues to integrate into the daily tasks of AdOps, but despite improvements in efficiency and automation of routine tasks, human involvement remains an integral part. In the new season of the Netflix show "The Circle" (which premiered on April 17, 2024), participants communicate with each other through screens. An #AI named Max participates in the show, hiding its true nature behind a human mask. This makes one wonder how easily AI can now imitate a human.

How effectively can AI imitate a human?

On the show, Max successfully imitated human behavior and most participants did not suspect they were communicating with a machine. Such efficiency of AI raises interest in its capabilities in professional roles, including AdOps work, where AI is already used for analyzing large data and optimizing advertising campaigns.

However, despite all its skills, AI does not pose a threat to jobs, at least for now. Adam Hua, co-founder of Aeon, believes that AI will particularly help AdOps teams on the publisher side, but it does not create a threat to jobs. AI is a tool for simplifying tasks, making AdOps work more efficient.

Challenges and Prospects

Although AI may reduce the number of employees needed due to increased operation efficiency, managers will have to rethink roles, focusing attention on tasks that humans are best suited for—such as strategic planning, client management, and interpersonal relationships.

As Greg Verdino, chief analyst and founder of CognitivePath Research, emphasizes, AI will take on various AdOps tasks, automating everything routine and data-related. However, it will not be possible to completely do without humans.

To Publishers

It is important to consider that integrating AI can significantly improve your revenue, but it necessarily requires human involvement to avoid falling into such a trap.

Forecast

The role of AI in automating and optimizing advertising processes will grow. Reduction in the number of AdOps dealing with routine tasks.
